Absentee ballots, after voted, may be mailed to P.O. Box 59, Chelsea, MI 48118 or deposited in the black drop box at 12172 Jackson Rd. until 8:00 p.m. on all election nights.

On Election Day, Please DO NOT bring absentee ballots to the voting precinct, unless it is to surrender your ballot and vote in person.
Voters who have been issued Absentee Ballots but now wish to vote in person must bring their ballot to the precinct and surrender it prior to voting.

Voting Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. for all elections. For safety reasons, please do not park on Jackson Road while voting.
Two Voting Precincts:
Precinct #1 – Chelsea School District
Precinct #2 – Dexter Community Schools
As of March 1st, 2017, Lima Township has two voting precincts (see Lima Township Election Commission Meeting below). For convenience and to lessen the confusion, the precincts were divided into school districts. Chelsea School District voters are precinct 1, and Dexter Community School District voters are precinct 2. Until further notice, all voters will still cast their votes at the Lima Township Hall, 11452 Jackson Rd, Dexter, MI.

The entire state of Michigan has new voting equipment! Lima Township Voters will be using a new scanner for the first time, to tabulate ballots during the November 7th, 2017 election. Follow this link and under “voter assist terminals” choose “your county’s voting equipment”, then select Washtenaw County to get more information on the Hart Voting System.
